The first thing you'll need to do is locate the product key. This should be located on a sticker somewhere on your PC or laptop. You can also make use of Microsoft's support site to find the product key, but be warned that this will require internet access, and it may cost you money. Once you have your product key, head over to the Enterprise section of Microsoft's website and download their install tool for Windows 8 Pro with Media Center Pack (it's possible that they may not offer this option anymore). Then follow these steps: 1. Double-click the setup file and select "I accept." 2. Once you have downloaded the installer, double-click on it to begin the installation. 3. Click "Upgrade this PC now." 4. Click "Accept" on the license terms screen. 5. Now enter your product key and click Next. Your PC will restart after entering the product key. 6. Windows 8 will then ask you to select a "country or region." This is completely optional, so just click "Next" to proceed without selecting one if you don't want to do so. 7. After that, Windows 8 will ask for your input of a username and password on first log-in. This is also completely optional. 8. Now Windows 8 will ask you to choose between using a local account (which lets anyone access and use your PC) and a user account (which is like a separate computer with its own login and settings, but only one person can use it at any given time). Choose whichever you prefer, or if you need more security, choose "Create a new Windows account" and follow the prompts to create an account. 9. Next it will ask if you want to make any changes to the default language or date/time settings. If not, just let it continue with the installation as-is. If so then click "Next", then "Install now", then finally "Finish. " 10. Now you have a brand new Windows 8 Pro operating system on your PC, so let's go through it and see what all of the new features are! Once the install is complete, you'll have a brand new Windows 8 Pro operating system to play around with. From here you can check out all of the cool new features that have been added since Windows 7. These include: Windows 8's touch-first interface is going to be compared often to Apple's iOS and its growing number of touch-friendly apps. Compared to Apple's iOS, Windows 8's interface has many more features for touch-first navigation, including:The first thing you'll encounter after installing Windows 8 will be the new Start screen. For traditional mouse and keyboard users the Start screen looks like this: For tablet users, Windows 8 will provide a far superior start menu experience by adding a secondary layer to the traditional desktop environment that looks like this (again for tablet users): Note that both of these images do not show any newly added live tiles. The start menu for previous versions of Windows is actually much more useful than the one seen in Windows 8 due to its ability to provide quick pop-up information. cfa1e77820
